Following two deadly traffic accidents in Ghazni province, 52 people have died, and 70 others have been injured.
Local officials in Ghazni report that the first incident occurred at 10 PM last night in the Shahbaz area of Ghazni city, and the second incident took place half an hour later in the Nani area of Andar district in the same province.
Hamdullah Nisar, the Director of Information and Culture for Ghazni, stated: "Two separate incidents occurred, one in the Shahbaz area of central Ghazni and another in the Nani area of Andar district. In one of these incidents, a passenger vehicle of type 580 collided with a fuel tanker."
Both incidents resulted from collisions between 580-type passenger vehicles and fuel tankers or trailers.
Sayed Wali, one of the injured, said: "The situation was entirely different; we had never experienced such a thing before. All of us were lying on the ground, and our heads were trapped in the seats. Coal from the other vehicle had also fallen on us. Look at us; our pockets are filled with coal."
Rahmatullah Hamad, another injured passenger, stated: "When our vehicle collided, my cousin was with me. I heard his screams and the screams of others. After that, I didn’t know what happened. When I regained consciousness, I was in the public hospital."
Meanwhile, the Islamic Emirate has instructed the relevant authorities to thoroughly investigate the incidents and determine their causes.
Hamdullah Fitrat, Deputy Spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, said: "The relevant institutions have been instructed to promptly investigate both incidents, identify their exact causes, and take measures to prevent such occurrences in the future."
