Mawlawi Abdul Kabir: No Concerns Over Role Change

After being appointed acting minister of refugees and repatriation, Mawlawi Abdul Kabir stated that he has no concerns regarding his removal from the position of political deputy of the prime minister's office.

He urged the ministry’s officials and employees to continue their work as before.

Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, who was recently dismissed from his position as the political deputy of the prime minister's office by the decree of the Islamic Emirate’s leader and appointed acting minister of refugees and repatriation, stated: "Whether it is the Ministry of Refugees, the political deputy office, or any other ministry, no individual can accomplish anything alone. Before me, the late minister was here, and you worked with him; now, cooperate with me as well."

The new acting minister of refugees and repatriation assumed office as Afghan refugees in neighboring and regional countries face serious challenges.

In his first meeting, Mawlawi Abdul Kabir discussed the situation of Afghan refugees with the deputy high commissioner of the UNHCR.

"Afghan refugees in Pakistan are facing severe challenges in visa renewal. Their applications are often rejected, and if approved, the duration is reduced from six months or a year to just one month,” said Ehsan Khan Ahmadzai, an Afghan refugee in Pakistan.

Noor Ahmad Yurtadash, an Afghan refugee in Turkey, also stated: "The problems of Afghan refugees in Turkey are increasing day by day. Those without permanent residency cannot go to work or move freely."

The leader of the Islamic Emirate appointed Mawlawi Abdul Kabir as the acting minister of refugees and repatriation on the 20th of Jadi (solar year) after he previously served as the political deputy of the prime minister's office.
