Haqqani Meets UAE President to Discuss Regional Stability

Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Acting Minister of Interior, along with Abdul Haq Wasiq, the Head of Intelligence for the Islamic Emirate, visited the United Arab Emirates and met with the country's President, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

According to Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, the discussions focused on regional stability, shared interests, and Afghanistan’s economic potential.

Military analyst Abdul Wahid Taqat said: "Now is the time for us to engage with countries that seek good relations with Afghanistan and to gain benefits that serve the Afghan people."

Haqqani’s visit follows a recent trip to the UAE by a delegation led by Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting minister of foreign affairs.

But what makes these visits significant?

Idris Mohammadi Zazi, a political analyst, said: "The UAE has close relations with the US and European Union countries. It can serve as a bridge for discussions on unresolved issues where the Islamic Emirate faces challenges. I believe such meetings provide valuable opportunities."

The UAE is among the few countries that have officially accepted an ambassador from the Islamic Emirate.

Haqqani also visited the UAE in July, where he engaged in discussions with officials over the release of Afghan prisoners and the issuance of visas for Afghan citizens.
