Osman, a seven-year-old child who went missing about a month and a half ago from Argo district in Badakhshan province, was recently found dead.
His father has called on the caretaker government to investigate the case and bring justice.
Javed Alfat, Osman's father, said about the incident: "His clothes are intact and not torn, but his body has been cut open from the stomach."
The child’s family and relatives told TOLOnews that they do not know the reason behind Osman’s murder and urged authorities to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
Mohsen, one of the child’s relatives, said: "The people and the child’s family deserve a clear answer on whether this was a case of abduction, a traffic incident, or something else. At the very least, the public should be informed whether this was a kidnapping and whether those responsible have been brought to justice."
Another relative, Sanaullah, also said: "This is a heartbreaking incident, the first of its kind here. This child was taken 46 days ago and remained missing until his body was found last night."
Meanwhile, the Badakhshan police command said that investigations into the case are ongoing.
Ehsanullah Kamgar, the spokesperson for Badakhshan’s police command, told TOLOnews: "Unfortunately, Osman's body was found yesterday on a mountain in the Hazarmishi village of the mentioned district and was handed over to his family. Serious investigations into his murder are underway."
Osman’s family lives in the second district of Wahdat city in Argo district, Badakhshan. His father, a schoolteacher, stated that he has no known personal conflicts with anyone.
