Construction work on a transport terminal in Arghandi, Kabul, costing nearly 1.3 billion afghani, has officially commenced.
The Economic Deputy of the Prime Minister’s Office, during the inauguration ceremony, emphasized the value of a standardized transport infrastructure in promoting the country’s economic growth and development.
Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar stated that these terminals will directly and indirectly create job opportunities for citizens.
He added: “The construction of this terminal will cost approximately 1.285 billion afghani, which will be funded by Afghanistan’s National Development Budget.”
The acting minister of transport and civil aviation also highlighted the importance of these terminals in delivering standardized transport services and facilitating ease for citizens. He noted that the terminal will be built on an area of 914 jeribs and will be completed within two years.
Hamidullah Akhundzada, the acting minister of transport and civil aviation, said: “This terminal will be constructed on an area of 914 jeribs, and the work will be completed within two years.”
Mohammad Nasir Wakilzada, head of the contracting company, stated: “The Arghandi Kabul transport terminal will serve as a modern center for both public and private transport.”
It is worth mentioning that on the 14th of Saratan last solar year, the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing had announced the handover of the design plan for four transport terminals to the Ministry of Transport, aimed at facilitating the country’s transportation system.
