Afghans Call for Easy Service Centers for IDs

Citizens from various provinces who have traveled to Kabul to obtain electronic ID cards (e-Tazkira) are calling for the establishment of Easy Service Centers in their own provinces.

They say the absence of such centers in their areas has forced them to come to Kabul, enduring hardships to access basic documentation services.

Shawkat, a resident of Ghazni, said: “I’ve been here for fifteen days to get my e-Tazkira. We face many challenges. We urge the Islamic Emirate to expand these Easy Service branches to the provinces.”

Hamdullah, a resident of Kapisa, stated: “Our request to the government is to also provide these services in Kapisa. We come to Kabul with great difficulty. Those who have relatives here can stay with them, but those who don’t have anyone are forced to spend their days and nights in hotels.”

According to officials, one of the Easy Service Centers in Kabul provides a range of services—such as issuing electronic ID cards, birth certificates, and civil registration services—quickly and efficiently to citizens arriving from the provinces.

Zabihullah Amin Safi, General Manager of the Bagh-e-Bala Easy Service Center, said: “In the birth certificate section alone, we receive 200 to 300 visitors daily. The same number applies to post-distribution services and to the new issuance of e-Tazkiras.”

Meanwhile, the National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) assures the public that efforts are underway to establish Easy Service Centers in provinces across the country.

Mohammad Halim Rafi, NSIA spokesperson, stated: “We have plans to open new centers in the near future, including in Nangarhar and Balkh, where work will begin soon. Similarly, we plan to activate centers in other provinces such as Kunduz, Farah, and Ghazni.”

Previously, NSIA officials had also emphasized the agency’s commitment to providing timely and balanced services to citizens throughout the country.
