20 Taliban Killed In Past 24 Hours: MoD

At least 20 armed insurgents including a local commander were killed in the past 24 hours in different parts of the country, the Ministry of Defense said on Tuesday. 
 
According the ministry, currently 14 offensive operations are underway in 14 provinces across the country. 
 
The ministry said that during the past 24 hours 11 airstrikes were conducted to eliminate insurgent hideouts in parts of the country. 
 
The ministry’s spokesman Dawlat Waziri said that during the operations seven insurgents were killed in Alingar district, five in Chora district of Trinkot, the capital of Zabul province, four insurgents in Barmal district of Paktia, three insurgents in Achin district and one local commander in Shawal area of Nad Ali district of Helmand province. 
 
No more details were provided by the ministry regarding the operations. 
 
Taliban has not commented yet about the operations.
