At least 25 armed Taliban members were killed during a clash with security forces in Kandahar province on Monday night, local officials said Tuesday.
Zia Durani, the police chief’s spokesman, said that on Monday night Taliban insurgents attacked security check posts close to the Durand Line in Arghistan district.
They said at least 25 Taliban members were killed and 15 others were wounded.
Durani said during the clash, about 16 Afghan security force members were either killed or wounded but that he did not have the exact figures.
Taliban have not yet commented.
