At least four Afghan border police were killed in a Taliban attack on Sunday in Zabul province, local officials said.

According to Zabul police the incident took place when Taliban insurgents attacked their check post in Zanjir area of Shamlzai district.

One other police officer was wounded.

Meanwhile residents said that after the attack the Taliban also closed off their local clinic.

Local police confirmed this.
