Abdullah Commends Afghan Forces

Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah on Thursday visited the Special Force Unit’s base in Kabul where he commended the soldiers and called them the saviors of Afghanistan’s preservation.

He watched the way the forces conducted special operations from the base.

“You defend peace, you defend people's honor, people's safety, for the preservation of the country,” Abdullah said.

“Mr. Doctor (Abdullah) you save the political ground, leave the battleground for us. We will give a strong response to the country's enemy,” Commander of the Army Special Forces Unit Bismillah Waziri said.

At the same event, Defense Minister Tariq Shah Bahrami stressed the need to further reform the army and improve their leadership.
“Two important principles which are highly critical are in our top priority. Those principles are professional leadership and management and continuing the reforms process in the Ministry of Defense,” he said.

The Special Forces of the Afghan National Army are counted among the best who conduct special missions at short notice. The forces are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment.

Afghanistan marked the National Day of Afghan Defense and Security Forces on Thursday. The day was due to been celebrated on Wednesday but was delayed as the  second Kabul Process conference was held in Kabul. 

At the meeting the Afghan government sent a peace offer to the Taliban.

The national day of the Afghan forces was commemorated countrywide however, where residents in provinces commended the country’s soldiers.
