Afghan Embassy Approaches Iran Government About Torture Incident

The Afghan embassy in Iran announced on Thursday that it had shared its concerns about the abuse of a 16-year old Afghan boy with Iran’s foreign ministry.

One video showed the young man being beaten and thrown into a car, and a second video showed the boy tied up and lying on the floor with wounds on his torso.

The incident occurred at a resort in Iran’s Hormozgan province, according to the the Afghan embassy.

Earlier reports stated that the boy was beaten to death after he insulted the wife of an official from the village of Salakh, Hormozgan province.

However, Sibghatulah Ahmadi, a spokesman for the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), said Wednesday that the boy is alive and that the perpetrators have been arrested.
