At least 20 Afghan security forces were killed in a Taliban attack in northern Baghlan province on Saturday night, local officials confirmed on Sunday.
The attack took place in Baghlan-e-Markazi district of the province after dozens of Taliban insurgents attacked army and police check posts in the district, according to local security officials.
In the meantime, a security source said that five army and eight police check posts have fallen to hand the Taliban.
“A number of the villages have also fallen to the Taliban,” the source told TOLOnews.
However, officials have not yet commented over the clashes.
The Taliban confirmed the attack on security check posts and claimed that dozens of security force members were killed.
