AGT Supporters Demonstrate Against Pakistan

A number of Afghanistan Green Trend (AGT) members on Friday held a peaceful demonstration outside the Pakistani embassy in Kabul in protest over Islamabad’s perceived role in terrorism.

Members of the group, also known as Rawand-e Sabz-e Afghanistan carried posters and chanted anti-Pakistan slogans during their demonstration.

Protesters accused Pakistan embassy of changing into a “nest of spies in Afghanistan” and said Pakistan Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) supports insurgents and had a hand in recent terrorist attacks in the country.

“ISI is responsible for the attacks. We know it and we have witnessed it,” said Fahim Kohdamani, a member of AGT.

“Spies are here. All the suicide bombings are being ordered from Pakistan’s embassy,” said Hamid, another member of AGT.

Demonstrators said the Afghan government must take serious action against Pakistan.

“Pakistan has always tried to marginalize Afghanistan and has been training suicide bombers in Quetta Council,” Rahimullah Rahmani, another member of AGT said.

“We will come out on the streets to stop (them) sending suicide bombers,” Raouf, another member of AGT, said.

Pakistan embassy however rejected the claims and said Pakistan is trying to strengthen relationships with Afghanistan, and added that other countries want to create discord among the two countries through launching propaganda.

“Who has managed the demonstration? Amrullah Saleh, former head of National Directorate of Security (NDS) has managed it. You know that in Pakistan also bomb blasts and security incidents have happened. Thousands of our citizens and security forces have been killed. But you have not seen us demonstrate in front of the Afghan consulates or embassy,” said Akhtar Munir, a spokesman for the Pakistan embassy.

The demonstrators said if government does not respond against Pakistan they will launch a bigger rally.
