Ghani Condemns Pakistan Attack; Says Terrorism Must Be Tackled

President Ashraf Ghani condemned the attack at a shrine in Pakistan and said terrorism is a common threat and it must be fought.

In a press statement sent by the Presidential Palace on Friday, Ghani said the shrine attack in Pakistan was against Islam and humanity.

He said he believes that “honesty and the will to fight against terrorism will prevent terrorists from carrying out their subversive activities in any country”.

“The Afghan government has always proved its honesty and commitment to ensure peace and stability and to fight terrorism,” the statement said. 

“Afghanistan has sacrificed for the past many years; therefore, Afghan government hopes that other countries must also prove their honesty in fight against terrorism,” the statement read.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah condemned the attack and sent his condolences to the people of Pakistan.

“Afghanistan condemns the attack in Lal Shahbaz Qalandar and offers sympathies to families of victims and people of Pakistan. Must fight terror,” he wrote on his twitter.
