A senior delegation from the Afghan Ministry of Defense (MoD) has traveled to Tehran for talks with Iranian military officials, the MoD said in a statement on Wednesday. 

The visit is aimed at strengthening military cooperation between Kabul and Tehran, dealing with common threats, and border cooperation, the ministry said.

The ministry also stated the delegation will discuss the situation in the region and the fight against Daesh with Iranian officials.

According to the ministry, the minister of defense Tariq Shah Bahrami will visit Iran in the near future.
