Zuhal and Negina were on their way to a nearby marketplace when a powerful car bomb attack happened near a police headquarters in the west of Kabul and claimed their lives among 12 others and left enormous damages to nearby houses.
 
The attack left 145 others wounded, according to Ministry of Interior Affairs. It was the second deadly attack in Kabul since July 28 when a car bomb explosion targeted the political office of vice presidential candidate Amrullah Saleh.  
 
Zuhal, 23, was married and was accompanying his 17-year-old sister, Negina, who had graduated from school this year. 
 
Zuhal has left two children behind aged two years old and nine months old.
 
“I lost my sweet daughters. They brought me their pieces. I burred empty coffins,” said their mother while crying and calling for justice from the Afghan government.
 
Zuhal’s husband, Assadullah, still remains in shock after he heard that his life partner was torn into pieces as a result of the Taliban’s bombing on Wednesday.
 
“What was the fault of my cousins?” asked the victims’ relative Ferdaws Arayee. “What was the fault of the people who were massacred with a mistake? What was the fault of the military men who were killed?” 
 
The attack took place in one of the most congested areas of the city.
 
“My children were having breakfast when everywhere went dark and there was dust everywhere,” said an eyewitness Bibi Hajji.
 
“This is the second time that my house is damaged and no one is there to ask about it,” said Salam, a Kabul resident.
