Pakistani Embassy In Kabul Restricts Visa Issuance To Afghans

Pakistan’s Embassy in Kabul in a statement on Sunday announced that it has restricted visa issuance to Afghans, except elderly, patients, women and businessmen.

The statement said the decision will be canceled when “the Afghan government takes action against the gang operating outside the consular area and extorting money from visa applicants”.

This comes after various complaints of visa applicants about major irregularities in the visa issuance process.

They have many times asked the Pakistani embassy and the Afghan government to take step and settle the problem.

On February 27, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Afghanistan Zahid Nasrullah Khan said that around 3,000 to 4,000 people are visiting the Pakistani Embassy in Kabul on a daily basis to get a visa.

Some applicants claimed that if they pay $180, they will get the Pakistani visa in one day.

Previously, Pakistan’s embassy in Kabul was issuing 700 visas to Afghans on a daily basis, but now this figure has increased to over 1,000 visas per day.
