Charikar Residents Complain of Construction Blocking Roadways

Residents of Parwan said that work on an underground shopping project in Charikar has not yet been completed and it is causing problems for drivers.

“People have lots of problems on this route, when they have patients there is no way to transfer them to the hospital. Please complete this project,” said Nazer Ullah, a Parwan resident.

The prolongation of the project in Charikar has caused drivers in the north serious challenges.

“It has been one to two years that they have not completed this project, and we and our passengers are faced with challenges,” said Ghulam Bahlol, a driver.

Local officials in Parwan said that the lack of required building materials is the reason for the delay of the project. But those responsible for the project did not offer a comment to TOLOnews.

“We are aware of this project's delay; officials of this project must try to complete this project,” said Mohammad Idris Anwari, deputy governor of Parwan.

“This is a private project, for this reason we don’t take it seriously, people who invested maybe got bored with it,” said Sayed Emal Agha, mayor of Charikar.

Work on this project has been started three times by officials of the current and previous government.
