Students in Herat Hold Exhibit Featuring Technology, Science Projects

Hundreds of students of Afghan-Turk schools have displayed their achievements in robotics, social sciences, history and science in an exhibition in Herat.

The purpose of this exhibition is to encourage students to study and innovate.

“We have to use our opportunities to teach current things to our students,” said Farhad Farhat, an organizer.

Orfan is a student in the eighth grade, and he made a computer program that allows you to find the country’s contact code.

“You can enter the phone number of the person who called you than you can fine the country and the company,” said Orfan, a student.

Most of these students in the exhibition have worked on similar projects.

“With biology, regular laboratories must be prepared for us,” said Mustafa, a student.

Most of the work is practical, and the students' access to modern knowledge in the technology sector is a big advantage, say officials.

“If they have opportunities, they can make everything and we are proud of them and happy for the talent these young people have,” said Sinan Elikhan, Turkish Consul General in Herat.

“We have to prepare a practical laboratories program in all schools,” said Shuhabuddin Saqib, head of education in Herat.

Some local officials in Herat welcomed these programs, saying learning new knowledge is a serious need for the country.

“We need to make ourselves valuable with today's civilized society and make progress,” said Abdul Aziz Namani, head of the university of Herat.

In this exhibition, 150 projects have been displayed that were made by students, and students said that if facilities are provided to them, they will create practical inventions in the technology and science sector.
