Logar Residents Call for Resumed Work on Planned Mes Aynak Museum

Logar residents want the construction of a special museum in Mes Aynak to resume.

They said that after the Islamic Emirate came to power, the construction of this museum stopped and has not been resumed.

“We call on the government to resume the construction of this museum because it’s a source of income for Logar and attracts tourists,” said Shakil Ahmad Tasil, a Logar resident.

“Foreign and domestic tourists will come and visit this place and this will have a good impact on the county’s economy," said Bashir Ahmad Dariz, a Logar resident.

Meanwhile, local officials in Logar said efforts are being made to restart the construction of this museum.

According to officials of this museum, the historical artifacts obtained from the area of the Mes Aynak mine will be preserved.

“Efforts are being made to resume construction on a special museum, and we have talked with the Ministry of Information and Culture officials, and they assured us that they will pay attention to this regard,” said Rafiullah Samim, head of the Information and Culture in Logar.

“We call on the Ministry of Information and Culture to resume the construction of the museum that was started by the previous government, said Mer Hashim Hizbullah, Mohamad Agha District Governor of Logar.

According to the information and culture department of Logar, at the museum a research center for Logar's antiquities was also planned to be built.
