The reconstruction work on 25 kilometers of public road between Uruzgan and Kandahar has started.
Local officials of Uruzgan said that the cost of rebuilding the road is 21 million Afghanis from the budget of the Ministry of Public Works.
The project that was inaugurated today, the road is from Tarinkot to Wesh,” said Adamjan Namani, head of the public works department in Urozgan.
“We monitor the work every day and we hope that the staff will also carry out the project in the right way,” said Mohammad Alijan Ahmad, the governor of Uruzgan.
Meanwhile, passengers and drivers asked the officials to do quality work on the road so that they do not face problems in the future.
"We are very tired of this way, let's build the road to reduce the expense (of driving on it),” said Ehsanullah, a driver.
“On this road, injured have died before they reach Kandahar due to the damage of the road,” said Niaz Mohammad, a passenger.
“We ask the Islamic Emirate to build the road in a solid way,” said Muhibullah, a passenger.
Passengers and drivers have complained about the challenges caused by the damage of the road.
