In Nimroz, a number of writers said that hundreds of their literary and scientific works are ready to be published, but they don't have the money to print them.
These writers asked the government to give them financial and spiritual support.
On Friday (17 Sonbulah) a ceremony was held to honor writers by the Department of Information and Culture of Nimroz province.
“There are many writers in Nimroz province who have potential talent, I also have three to four books that have not been published,” said Shoaib Hayat, a writer.
“For those who want to publish books it is very expensive. I request the information and culture department recognize the talents of the province and cooperate with authors in publishing their works,” said Abdul Karim Akrami, a writer.
Some cultural analysts believe that for the growth of writing and society's analysis, it is necessary for writers to be financially and spiritually supported.
“Our authors need support, the government should support authors and they have problems when an author wants to publish a book, most of our authors cannot afford to publish their book,” said Bismiallah Akrami, a cultural activist.
However, the local authorities pledged the current government's commitment to support and help the writers and educators in the country.
“The leadership of the Ministry of Information and Culture, as well as the Directorate of Information and Culture of Nimroz, have always tried to support writers as much as possible,” said Habibullah Ilham, head of the Information and Culture of Nimroz.
According to writers and cultural analysts, Nimroz is one of the provinces where in recent years, less work has been done in the cultural sectors, especially in the direction of the growth of writing and supporting writers.
