Hayatullah Mahajer Farahi, Deputy of the Ministry of Information and Culture, stated that a specific directorate has been established within the ministry to address journalists' challenges, particularly the right to access information.
In a meeting with journalists in Parwan, Hayatullah Mohajer Farahi added that they are striving to provide timely information to journalists.
“In the area of information access, the Information Access Directorate has been activated in Kabul, and its duty is to hold seminars in ministries, independent agencies, and provinces,” he said.
Shams Rahman Sediqi, the head of Information and Culture in Parwan, said: “Based on the guidance of the respected ministry, if there are any continuous directives, they should be communicated to the media, and we should hold meetings with both private and governmental media outlets.”
Some journalists and media officials at this meeting urged the Islamic Emirate to address the economic challenges faced by journalists and media in this province.
Mubariz Mohammadi, the head of a private radio station in Parwan, said: “The media community in Parwan province as a whole is facing economic problems and is unable to pay taxes and electricity bills.”
Yamin Rasteen, a journalist, said: “The working environment for journalism in Parwan province is satisfactory, but we demand more attention from government institutions regarding the right to access information.”
