Tourists Numbers Increase in Rohani Baba District, Paktia

In recent months, around 30,000 tourists have visited the recreational areas of Rohani Baba District in Paktia.

Tourists, in addition to visiting Rohani Baba, spend joyful moments swimming and cooking.

In this area, food and tea are provided for free, known locally as "Langar," a tradition that has continued for a long time.

"During Eid days, about 2,500 motorcycles and more than 500 cars would come here daily, bringing the number of people to almost 30,000. Even now, more than a hundred people come here daily," said Zia-ul-Haq, a local resident.

"This area has beautiful scenery. People from Herat, Kandahar, Khost, and other provinces come here. They visit for both pilgrimage and recreation," said Akhtar Gul, another resident.

"This area has a lot of natural beauty, and during Eid, people from many provinces come here," said Baz Mohammad Roshan, a visitor.

Tourists visiting this area complain about the lack of accommodation and recreational facilities, as well as the poor road conditions, and demand these issues be addressed.

"Private investment here would not be wasted, and we also ask the government to provide recreational facilities and build the road. So far, nothing has been done here," said Rahmatullah Shahed, a tourist.

"These walkways should be properly built and more recreational facilities should be provided because this area is famous and many people come here from everywhere," said Besmillah Mohammadi, another tourist.

"Regarding the roads, the construction of baths, and other places, nothing has been done as it should be to match the spiritual personality of this place," said Abdul Wadood, another tourist.

Meanwhile, a charity foundation, with financial assistance from the people, has begun work on expanding and graveling the 8-kilometer road leading to this shrine and recreational area.

The head of information and culture in Paktia also pledged the construction of the main road leading to Rohani Baba District and providing facilities there.

Noor Rahman Rahmani, a representative of the charity foundation, said: "This road is 8 kilometers long and 14 meters wide, and the Rohani Baba Charity Foundation, with financial help from the people, especially travelers, is building it because people face many problems here."

Sawab Jan Islami Yar, head of information and culture in Paktia, said: "Efforts are underway to build this road properly, and local people have helped in leveling part of the road. Given the available facilities, necessary amenities will be provided for this recreational area."

Meanwhile, the tourism industry has grown more than ever, and with security in the country, a large number of domestic tourists are visiting various recreational and historical areas of the country.
