Khost Doctors Assist Teachers with Free Services

The Doctors' Union in Khost province has decided not to charge teachers for medical check-ups in the province.

According to the head of the union, they are working to provide not only free treatment but also medicine and other facilities to teachers without any cost.

"We have jointly decided that from now on, no teacher in the province will have to pay a fee to doctors, as their economic condition is not favorable. This decision is not limited to teachers alone; we will also try to include other segments of society," said Abdul Hakim Zadran, the head of the Khost Doctors' Union.

He emphasized that this initiative is aimed at addressing teachers' financial difficulties and appreciating their efforts, and it should be implemented in the center and districts of the province.

Several teachers said this initiative by the Doctors' Union a significant step and have called for its implementation across the country.

Rahmanullah Tasal, a teacher in Khost, said: "This initiative is a good start, but its continuity is very important. Other unions and institutions should also make similar decisions so that teachers can achieve their rightful place in society and their moral value increases."

"We urge government officials and those in leadership positions to implement this decision not only in Khost but throughout the country to support teachers,” said Naqibullah Zaland, a social activist in Khost.

Meanwhile, some teachers in Khost complain about their poor economic situation.

They say their salaries are very low, forcing them to take on physical labor to meet their family needs, which negatively affects the teaching process.

"Overall, teachers' salaries are very low. We urge the Islamic Emirate authorities to provide us with at least a salary sufficient to meet our daily expenses,” stated Waheed Zaman Zheman, a teacher in Khost.

"Most of our teachers work part-time and teach part-time because their salaries do not meet their daily needs. If these needs are met, teachers will be able to teach with full focus and readiness,” Naeem Darez, another teacher in Khost, emphasized.

Teachers in Khost have called on the leadership of the Islamic Emirate to pay attention to their livelihood problems and take practical steps to improve their living conditions.

According to the Khost Doctors' Union, currently, more than 400 doctors are active in the province and are striving to provide more facilities to teachers in addition to free medical services.
