Construction of First Ground Terminal Begins in Fayzabad, Badakhshan

The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has commenced the construction of the first ground terminal in Fayzabad, the capital of Badakhshan province.

According to officials, the project is being built on 10 acres of land with a budget of 60 million afghani.

Abdul Salam Haidari, deputy minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, stated that the construction of this terminal will play an effective role in the development of ground transportation and the facilitation of public movement in Badakhshan.

“The Wakhan project will also be completed soon, and this terminal will be very beneficial in this area because it will serve the people,” he stated.

Mohammad Ayub Khalid, the governor of Badakhshan, also emphasized the importance of the terminal’s location and said, “This terminal is being constructed alongside the main highway, and the location is suitable because we hope our route to China will open and more terminals will be built here. We are committed, and construction and road-building activities are ongoing.”

Several residents of Badakhshan welcomed the construction of this terminal, considering it an important step in reducing traffic congestion in the province’s center.

“This terminal not only helps reduce congestion in the city but also serves as a significant source of income for the people and the government,” said Rasoul Mirzayi, a resident of Badakhshan.

“If it is built in this area, it will be very good; congestion will decrease, and job opportunities will be created for drivers,” stated Farooq, another resident of Badakhshan.

“With the construction of this terminal, people will be spared from confusion and traffic congestion will be reduced. If the Silk Road opens, this will be a golden opportunity for us,” stated Safar Mohammad Haidari, the General Director of Badakhshan Terminal.

It is worth mentioning that in recent weeks, the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has also launched ground terminal construction projects in several other provinces across the country.
