Pakistan's Cross-Durand Line Aggressions Condemned

A number of officials and residents of Paktia province in the country’s east at a gathering on Friday condemned recent rocket shellings by Pakistan’s military into eastern parts of Afghanistan and said they want an end to the incursions.

Participants of the gathering said Pakistan has increased its military activities along the Durand Line in Dand-e-Patan district of Paktia province.

They urged government to let stop anyone country which wants to interfere in Afghan soil.

“We urge government to take the same action against Pakistan,” Haidar Khan, a tribal elder said.

“We urge government to stop the attacks and our people are ready to stand against them [Pakistan]," said Khial Samkanai, another tribal elder said.

Meanwhile, Paktia governor, Zalmai Wesa, in a visit to Border Police check posts in bordering areas, said the Afghan security forces are well equipped and able to prevent Pakistan’s military aggression.

“We have that much equipment to defend the coutnry, but it is not enough to address all our needs,” he said.

Commander of 303 Spinghar Police Zone, Assadullah Shirzad, said the Afghan forces are ready to defend the country and respond aggressions of the enemies.
“Security forces are ready to defend our soil. We are with you,” he said.

The cross-Durand Line incursions was widely condemned by Afghans across the country.

The Afghan Foreign Ministry on Thursday said the Afghan forces are ready to respond to the incursions if needed.
