The Taliban attacked an ANA base in the Shargha area of Khakrez district Sunday morning with a motor bomb, the governor’s office said.
According to the governor’s office, the car bomb was identified by security forces and the driver was killed and the bomb was destroyed before it reached its presumed target.
The Taliban also conducted attacks on a security checkpoint around 10:00 am local time.
The office said that air and ground reinforcements deployed to the area and push backed the Taliban.
The office said there are no details about casualties but will be available later.
Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
