Three Suspects Arrested In Kabul Homicide Case

At least three suspects were arrested in connection with murder of 10 members of one family in Kabul City, the Crime Investigation Department of Kabul Police confirmed Sunday.

The incident took place in Khairkhana area in the north of Kabul on Friday evening where 10 members of one family were murdered and three others were injured.

Head of the Crime Investigation Department Mohammad Salem Almas told TOLOnews that the suspects were arrested from Kabul-Baghlan Highway on Sunday.

Almas said the suspects were identified by members of the victims’ family.

He said the suspects had gone to Mazar-e-Sharif City, in Balkh province following the incident. He added that police were chasing the suspects and arrested them in areas related to the Kabul-Baghlan Highway when they were on their way back to Kabul.

The incident sparked anger among member of the public and a number of senators in Meshrano Jirga, the Upper House of Parliament.

Lawmakers on Sunday asked Kabul Police to arrest those behind the murder case.

Meanwhile, other senators recommended the Ministry of Interior to “issue licensed guns to families” so that they can ensure their safety in such cases.
