Two Local Taliban Commanders Killed in Faryab Operation

At least 11 Taliban insurgents including their two local commanders were killed in Afghan security forces operations in different parts of the country, according to a Ministry of Defence (MoD) statement.

In addition, 12 other insurgents were wounded.

The operation was launched in Faryab, Helmand, Uruzgan and Farah provinces to clear the area of insurgents on Wednesday, the statement said.

The first operation was launched in Faryab province in which two local commanders of the Taliban were killed.

Four insurgents were killed in Nad Ali district of southern Helmand province while three insurgents were killed in the Uruzgan operation.

Three other insurgents were killed in Bala Blook district of Farah province.

However, the statement did not provide further details about the operations.
