Pul-e-Khishti, a historic monument in Badakhshan province, has recently become a popular destination, attracting many visitors from various provinces across the country.
Visitors to Faizabad city expressed their delight at the improved security and the opportunity to explore this remarkable site.
Khal-Nazar, a resident of Kunduz, said: “We came to Badakhshan, took a tour. The weather in Badakhshan is very nice, it's green, and it's the best place for recreation.”
Sayed Manawi, a resident of Balkh, said: “Security is very well maintained. The roads are also very good. We had a great trip, stayed here for a couple of nights, and then went to Dasht-e Shiwa.”
Parts of this historical monument have been damaged due to the government's neglect in recent years and are at risk of collapse.
Residents of Badakhshan say that this historical monument is deteriorating and they urged the interim government officials to restore and renovate it.
Matiullah, a resident of Badakhshan, said: “People come here to visit and tour. It’s a very nice place with a great history. If the government restores it, it will benefit both the government and the people, and also enhance the beauty of Badakhshan.”
Romal, another resident of Badakhshan, said: “As far as I think, it needs restoration and should be repaired.”
The Department of Information and Culture of Badakhshan pledged that the restoration work on this monument will begin soon.
Zabihullah Amiri, head of the Department of Information and Culture of Badakhshan, said: “Inshaullah, with the onset of cold weather and the reduction of water levels, the restoration and repair work on this historical monument will begin.”
According to numbers from this department, around 37 historical monuments and ancient sites have been registered in this province, and among them, five monuments were restored and renovated during the previous government.
