Afghanistan’s ArtLords, a group of Afghan activists and artists in Kabul, influenced the streets of Lugano in southern Switzerland by painting murals during their tour to the European nation.
The ArtLords said in a statement that dozens of residents of the city joined them when they were painting the murals.
According to the statement, the trip is aimed at exchanging ideas on arts, culture, and most importantly to portray a different image from Afghanistan.
“We had the privilege to share our experience through painting murals with residents of Lugano,” the statement said, quoting the ArtLords founder Omid Sharifi.
“Over 500 people mostly Swiss and Italy nationals among them the children and youths attended the event,” said the statement.
ArtLords has painted a series of murals on Kabul walls, highlighting social problems, supporting Afghan forces, defending freedom of expression, freedom of the press and women’s rights.
