BAZAR: Japan Pledges $1m For Demining, Veterinary Project

The Japanese embassy in Kabul on Monday signed agreements with two Afghan companies to start demining areas in Panjshir and Parwan provinces. 

The embassy will provide over $1 million USD to the companies to fund the project and to establish a veterinary center in Paktia.

Officials said the demining project aims to clear over 1.5 million square meters of land.

Host Zarmina Mohmmadi discusses the topic with the head of the livestock department Jahangir Meyakhil.

Meanwhile, host Mohammadi also discusses the two-day NGO conference in Kabul which was wrapped up by CEO Abdullah Abdullah on Monday. In the studio with her is Sayed Jawad Osmani, deputy minister of economy. 

In addition, Mohammadi discusses the move by the central bank to register money exchange vendors with Haji Zerak, a member of the Shazada Market Union.
