Officials in the eastern province of Nangarhar reported that the harvest of citrus fruits significantly increased this year compared to 2020.
The provincial agriculture department estimated the harvest of citrus fruits to be around 12,000 tons.
“The demands are very high now. There is a good market if we have good product. It will bring in a good income,” said Abdul Latif Barakzai, head of the provincial agriculture department.
The owners at citrus farms are also pleased with the amount of the harvest.
“We are taking care of these gardens all year long to earn a good income,” said Mohammad Ibrahim, a gardener.
