A delegation of the Islamic Emirate, led by the acting Minister of Commerce and Industry Nooruddin Azizi, has traveled to Tashkent.  

More than 50 Afghan traders are included in the delegation.  

“The Minister of Commerce and Industry, leading a delegation of 50 people, which also includes members of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment and other sectors, have made the trip. We hope this trip will be a great achievement for trade and economic relations,” said Khairuddin Mayal, deputy of ACCI.  

Meanwhile, the traders emphasized that the tariffs on imports and exports between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan should drop in order to pave the ground for good trade.  

“The high tariffs imposed on commodities being imported from Kazakhstan and also Uzbekistan should be reduced as it is the season for exports in Afghanistan,” said Ahmad Zia Azimi, a trader.   

Meanwhile, the Afghanistan Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock (ACAL) said that Afghanistan can send its exports via Uzbekistan to other nations of Central Asia.  

“In the current situation, this will encourage investment. This visit will be a good achievement for Afghanistan's private sector and nation,” said Mirwais Hajizada, deputy of ACAL.  

Based on the numbers of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, the trade rate between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan has reached nearly $500 million, with $20 million for fresh and dry fruit and vegetables as well as carpets.
