The National Statistics and Information Authority reported an increase in exports during the month of Sunbula (solar calendar).
According to the statistics from this authority, in the past month, exports worth over $173 million were made to other countries, while imports worth more than $950 million were brought into the country.
The spokesperson for this authority stated that in the month of Asad (solar calendar), the country's exports amounted to $103 million.
Mohammad Rafe Halim, spokesperson for the National Statistics and Information Authority, said: "The authority has collected and analyzed the data on exports and imports. According to our figures, in the month of Sunbula 1403 (solar calendar), Afghanistan's exports amounted to $173.9 million, while total imports were $954.1 million."
Meanwhile, the Chamber of Commerce and Investment says that in order to increase exports, it is necessary to resolve trade and transit challenges with regional countries.
Mir Zaman Popal, Administrative and Financial Acting Head of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment, said: "We must be able to establish customs, transit, and transport agreements with countries such as Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan to easily send our products to Russia and other countries."
Abdul Jabbar Safi, President of the Association of Industrialists, said: "Our biggest challenges in exports are with Pakistan and India. Whenever Pakistan creates problems, we face a reduction in exports."
According to the Chamber of Commerce and Investment, since the beginning of this solar year, around $900 million in exports have been made, with most of the exports going to Pakistan, India, the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, China, Russia, Iran, and Turkey.
