Afghanistan has had at least 10 constitutions in less than 100 years; however, seven constitutions were approved by Jirgas (assemblies). The Constitution of Afghanistan is the supreme law of the state, which serves as the legal framework between the Afghan government and Afghan citizens.

The earliest Afghan constitution was written during the reign of Emir Abdurrahman Khan in 1890s followed by a 1923 version which was approved by a Loya Jirga (Grand Assembly) of 872 representatives.

In this episode of Goftman, host Partaw Naderi discusses the topic with following guests;

• Asif Ashna, political analyst

• Ainuddin Bahaduri, legal expert

 • Shahhussain Murtazawi, deputy spokesman for Presidential Palace

• Neelab Mubariz, analyst
