GOFTMAN: Women Rights to Inheritance Discussed
The rights to inheritance is one of the basic and fundamental rights of women. The Sharia law has also certified the scale and level of rights of women to inheritance.
Despite that, large numbers of women in Afghanistan are not given the right to inheritance. In some cases, women do not feel comfortable to ask for their inheritance. Some women believe that by asking for inheritance, they themselves would close the door to their parents.
But, why the men exploit the silence of the women in this regard?
In this episode of Goftman, host Partaw Naderi discusses the topic with the following guests:
Shahla Farid, university lecturer
Maulavi Abdul Azim Jaheer, head of the women rights department at the ministry of Hajj and religious affairs
Suraya Subh Rang, AIHRC commissioner
Mohammad Amin Jawadi, university lecturer
