116 New Cases of COVID-19, 4 Deaths Reported in Afghanistan

The Ministry of Public Health on Thursday reported 116 new positive cases of COVID-19 out of 440 samples tested in the last 24 hours.   

The Public Health Ministry also reported four deaths and seven recoveries from COVID-19 in the same period.  

So far, 118,980 samples have been tested in the government centers and there are 5,290 known active COVID-19 cases in the country, data by the ministry indicates.    

According to the Public Health Ministry’s data, the cumulative total number of cases is now 40,626, the number of total reported deaths is 1,505, and the total number of recoveries is 33,831.  

The new cases were reported in Herat (41), Kabul (12), Kandahar (3), Balkh (11), Nangarhar (2), Kunduz (12), Baghlan (12), Parwan (12), Helmand (1), Laghman (2), Kundar (2), Panjshir (2) and Zabul (1) provinces.
