The Ministry of Public Health on Friday reported 1,122 new positive cases of COVID-19 out of 3,226 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

The ministry also reported 49 deaths and 717 recoveries from COVID-19 in the same period.

The new cases were reported in Kabul (120), Herat (200), Kandahar (35), Balkh (13), Nangarhar (85), Takhar (26), Kunduz (27), Baghlan (77), Faryab (18), Maidan Wardak (30), Helmand (31), Parwan (10), Bamiyan (6), Badakhshan (41), Ghazni (23), Paktia (30), Kapisa (10), Daikundi (65), Laghman (125), Zabul (14), Ghor (19), Logar (13), Farah (15), Jawzjan (52), and Khost (35) provinces.

The deaths were reported Kabul (11), Herat (8), Balkh (2), Nangarhar (1), Kunduz (3), Takhar (3), Faryab (2), Maidan Wardak (1), Helmand (1), Paktia (1), Ghazni (2), Nimroz (2), Daikundi (1), Kunar (1), Laghman (2), Zabul (1), Farah (1), Khost (5) and Paktika (1) provinces.

Data by the Public Health Ministry shows that the total number of cases is 140,226, total deaths stand at 6,098 and total recoveries are at 86,963.

The total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the world stands at 188,929,998 and total deaths are 4,066,633 figures by Johns Hopkins University show.
