Afghanistan: 278 New Cases of COVID-19, 17 Deaths Reported

The Ministry of Public Health on Tuesday reported 278 new positive cases of COVID-19 out of 3,367 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

The ministry also reported 17 deaths and 357 recoveries from COVID-19 in the same period.

The Ministry of Public Health stated that the number of COVID-19 cases is descending, saying over 1.8 million people have been vaccinated against the virus.

Data by the ministry shows that the total number of cases is 151,291 and the total number of reported fatalities is 6,978.

The total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 globally is 203,479,773 and the total number of deaths is 4,306,398, according to Johns Hopkins University.
