Due to the lack of government buildings, 60 health centers in Uruzgan province are operating in rented houses.

Local officials say that after the return of the Islamic Emirate to power, with the help of aid organizations, new buildings have been constructed for 17 health centers in this province, but other centers still need new facilities.

Fatah Mohammad Sahtmand, Deputy Director of Uruzgan’s Public Health Department, said: "Even now, 60 clinics are operating in rented houses, where services cannot be provided properly. When an organization comes and wants to offer services, they say the clinics are in rented houses, and we can neither provide solar electricity nor invest in them."

However, some residents of remote areas in Uruzgan are calling on officials to help provide facilities and address healthcare challenges.

Hamidullah, a resident of Uruzgan, said: "Women wait until the afternoon, but their turn never comes. We demand the construction of more hospitals."

According to the Uruzgan Public Health Department, there are currently 116 health centers operating in the provincial capital, Tarinkot, and other districts of the province.
