33 COVID-19 Deaths Reported in Past 24 Hours: MoPH

The Ministry of Public Health on Wednesday said that 33 people have died of COVID-19 in Afghanistan over the past 24 hours.

The ministry also said that 186 cases out of 519 have tested positive during the same time period.

So far, 73,515 samples have been tested in the government’s testing centers and there are 15,178 known active COVID-19 cases in the country, according to data by the ministry.

In the last 24 hours, the ministry also reported that 440 people have recovered.

The number of total cases is now 32,022, the total reported deaths are 807, and total recoveries are 16,041.

The highest count was reported in Kabul with 61, followed by Herat (34 cases), Daikundi (31), Kandahar (6), Balkh (14), Nangarhar (1), Baghlan (3), Logar (7), Kunduz (16), Parwan (6), Wardak (2), Helmand (1), and Ghor (2).

Also, the ministry reported 23 COVID-19 deaths in Kabul, 4 in Parwan, 3 in Takhar, 1 in Nangarhar, 1 in Badghis and 1 in Nimruz.
