COVID-19 Latest: 105 of 408 Test Positive

The Ministry of Public Health on Wednesday reported 105 new positive cases of the coronavirus from 408 samples tested over the last 24 hours.

So far, 88,202 samples have been tested in government centers and there are 9,813 known active COVID-19 cases in the country, according to data by the Ministry of Public Health.

In the last 24 hours, the ministry also reported one new death from COVID-19 and 31 recoveries.

The number of total cases is now 36,473, the total reported deaths is 1,271, and the total recoveries is 25,389.

The highest count was reported in Herat with 36, followed by Ghor with 32--other cases were reported in Kabul (17), Bamiyan (12), Nangarhar (2) and Daikundi (6).

Also, the ministry reported one COVID-19 death in Kabul.

The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 660,428 and the number of global coronavirus cases is 16,741,049, according to Johns Hopkins University.
