The Independent Election Commission’s (IEC) office in Kunduz said that from a total 220 voter registration centers, 120 of them have remained closed in the province due to security threats.
 
Head of the commission in Kunduz, Rasul Omar, said three districts including Qala-e-Zal, Kalbad and Gul Tapa have no voter registration center.
 
“At least 120 voter registration centers are closed in Kunduz. We have shared this with security agencies to launch military operations for ensuring the safety of those areas and for opening the centers,” he added.
