DOCUMENTARY--The Legacy of Sayed Mustafa Kazemi
15th Aqrab (November 6) marks the 12th anniversary of the death of Sayed Mustafa Kazemi, the former minister of commerce, Kabul MP, and head of the economic commission of the Wolesi Jirga, the lower house of the Afghan parliament.
Former president Hamid Karzai called him “capable” and a “patriot,” and Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah said that Kazemi “understood the needs of Aghanistan and the Afghan people.”
Kazemi, along with at least 78 others, including schoolchildren, was killed in a suicide bombing during the inauguration of a sugar factory in northern Baghlan in 2007.
Kazemi had been present at the Bonn Conference after the fall of the Taliban and was one of the signatories of the Bonn agreement. He was also responsible for implementing many initiatives to increase Afghan commerce and aid entrepreneurs.
