On the first day of Eid-al-Fitr, at the beginning of a 3-day ceasefire between the Taliban and Afghan forces, explosions in Kandahar and Kunduz provinces killed nine people and injured 17.

Two former mujahedeen leaders and now key politicians in the country from northern Afghanistan, at gatherings for Eid called for the extension of the three-day ceasefire and asked the Taliban to use the existing opportunity for peace, or they will mobilize people against them.
