Sunrisers Beat Mumbai Indians by 10 Wickets to Seal Play Off

Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Mumbai Indians by 10 wickets on Tuesday night in the Indian Premier League (IPL) to seal play-off berth, the Indian Express reported. 

While Sunrisers team got a spot in the playoffs, it also knocked Kolkata Knight Riders out of the tournament. As a result, there were plenty of reactions about the Kolkata team’s ouster from the tournament, the report said. 

Mumbai Indians weren’t playing a full-strength team and rested Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult and Hardik Pandya ahead of the Qualifier on Thursday.  

However, with a victory needed to qualify, Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner and Wriddhiman Saha ensured the team chased down a total of 150 at a canter without losing a single wicket, according to report. 

Kieron Pollard smashed 41 runs as Mumbai Indians posted 149/8 in 20 overs, Hindustan Times reported.  

Ishan Kishan chopped on to the stumps as Mumbai lose six wickets, the report said, adding that Saurabh Tiwary was dismissed for 1 by Afghanistan cricket star Rashid Khan.  

Shahbaz Nadeem turned the game around as he dismissed Suryakumar Yadav and Krunal Pandya in the same over.  

Mumbai Indians received second blow when Quinton de Kock chopped on to the stumps from a slower and wider one from Sandeep Sharma. Rohit Sharma did not last for long as he flicked one from Sandeep Sharma to David Warner. Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner wins the toss and elects to bowl, it said. 

Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi are playing for Sunrisers.
