ODI Cricket: Afghanistan Seal 3-0 Win against Ireland

Afghanistan National Cricket Team won the ODI series against Ireland as it defeated its rival by 36 runs in the last match on Tuesday.

It was Rashid Khan’s magic that changed the direction of the match and helped Afghanistan to sweep the series 3-0 in its favor.

Rashid Khan got 48 runs and picked up four wickets as Afghanistan make an ideal start to World Cup Super League campaign.

Afghanistan lost four wickets within 12 overs after being asked to bat first. Afghanistan openers provided a quick to the team before Rahmanullah Gurbaz lost his wicket to Craig Young for 22.

Javed Ahmadi and Rahmat Shah followed in quick succession and Hashmatullah Shahidi also lost his wicket quickly.

Captain Asghar Afghan and all-rounder Mohammad Nabi showed a good partnership by getting 71 runs.

In response, Ireland's Paul Stirling scored 118 runs to give a tough target to Afghanistan. But Stirling could not get enough support from the other end as Afghan spinners ran through the Ireland batting order.

Rashid Khan was the pick of the bowlers while Mujeeb Rahman picked two wickets.

Ireland was eventually all-out for 230 in 48th over of the chase, conceding their third consecutive defeat.

Paul Stirling was declared player of the series for his two centuries while Rashid Khan was awarded man of the match.
