Kabul Team Defeats Laghman 6-1 in Football League

The Istiqlal football club from Kabul defeated Jawanan-e-Laghman’s team from Laghman province 6-1 in the second match of the Afghanistan Champions League on Thursday.

Farshid Wajudi from Istaqlal was named as the best player of the match for his hattrick against the Laghman team.

12 teams from six zones of the country have attended the league that is expected to continue for four weeks.

The first goal of the match was scored by Farshid Wajudi of Istiqlal in the first half. The first half ended with only one goal from Istiqlal.

The second half started with repeated attacks by Istiqlal that helped its players to score five more goals. Numan Wali and Shirshah Haidari hit one and two goals respectively for Istiqlal.

Parwan’s Jabal Siraj team and Jawanan-e-Laghman will face each other in the third match of the league on Friday.

Afghanistan Football Federation has said that the champion of this year’s league competition will represent Afghanistan in the Asian competitions if it meets the required criteria of a professional club.

The clubs competing in the league are: Khost's Cloub Atalan, Parwan’s Jabal Siraj, Laghman’s Jawanan, Kabul’s Istiqlal, Herat’s Sorkh Poshan, Helmand’s Esmat Laghmani, Farah’s Abu Muslim, Takhar’s Mawj Sahel, Kandahar’s Aino Mina, Sar-e-Pul’s Khadim FC, Kunduz’s Wahidy and Faryab’s Khurasan
